Dictionary.com calls ideation "the process of forming ideas or images."
It reminds me of something I used to do with a coworker at a previous company.... It was called B.S. Bingo. Throughout the course of the day, anytime a consultant or employee used a "marketing buzzword" you would mark it down. Whoever had the most at the end of the day had sat through the most unproductive meetings. Here are some of my favorites:
* Ideation - the opposite of deciding and the mortal enemy of the OODA Loop: Observe, Orient, Decide, Act.
* Best Practices - does that even make grammatical sense?
* Managing Expectations - how about working hard to exceed expectations instead?
* Out of the Box - nothing shows how *in* the box you are than using this phrase
* Core Competencies - how about "what you do best"?
