I was at the event yesterday and I can tell you that the G1 has a long way to go in corporate america. Not even close. I would say the G1 competes with the Sidekick..
Your right about that, I've seen some videos on its performance and apps. I still see it being better than the iPhone in the future since the OS is open source. Also the iPhone when it first came out it wasn't ready for corporate American either. At least right out of the gate the G1 has push email. I like the idea that the community can get involved and continue to make this phone better by not just adding apps. Unlike the iPhone where you can't even copy and paste after 2 years out on the market. It still has until October 22 to work out the kinks.
