SCOTTEVEST Needs a Freelance Video Editor

Video/Encoding Editor – FCP

Scottevest/SeV is a successful online retailer offering innovative Gear Management Clothing for travelers, business people, students, and gadget-lovers the world over. Founded in 2000, SeV sells products directly through www.scottevest.com and through industry-leading retailers such as Brookstone, TravelSmith, Hammacher Schlemmer, Magellan’s, and others.

We are currently seeking to engage a freelance video editor for a variety of ongoing projects related to our online shopping experience and marketing efforts. We have recently set up a small studio space at our headquarters for the filming for HD product demos, marketing videos, instructional materials, etc. Scott Jordan - our CEO and Founder – and a small cast of characters provide the on-screen talent, and we are looking for editing talent to complete the experience.

Essential Skills:

* Final Cut Pro
o Keying (we shoot almost everything on green screen)
o Color Correction
o Know import/export/encoding settings inside out and help us establish appropriate standards
o Total familiarity with encoding for Flash video, including export with alpha channels (transparent backgrounds)
o Crop/zoom
o Titling (Live Type is OK)
o Cutting to music and a good sense of editorial timing
* Intermediate or better skill with After Effects and/or Flash a big plus
o Developing motion graphics
o Developing title sequences
o Use of virtual camera, etc.

We are seeking candidates with 3 to 6 years experience, and have several projects that require immediate attention. Please e-mail your resume, reel (or links to your work) and a brief note about how your experience directly relates to our needs to newvideo@scottevest.com. The better rapport we establish (creative and personality), the more video project we will be able to develop together.
