Love the shorts!!! I know you have muscular legs but they seem a bit tight. I like my shorts baggy. I guess I can get one or two sizes bigger. Love the design and I would make the belt the same color of the pants.

Shorts look great. I hope you have one product option to be full length pants that can zip off in to shorts. I would DEFINITELY buy them. I would have bought your ultimate cargo pants except they only came in a kaki color and since I travel a lot and have a dog, the light color gets dirty quite a bit. With the olive color you'll be introducing with the shorts, that color/dirty issue is resolved. The ultimate cargo pants also, unfortunately didn't zip off either. I really need the versatility of pants that convert to shorts. Again, because I might be traveling, leaving a colder climate and arriving at a warmer climate. This would also allow me not to have to pack an extra pair of pants or shorts, as I'd be wearing two articles of clothing in one. I also live in an area that temps can fluctuate a lot.
Regarding your other questions; I'd vote yes to an elastic waist band, with a canvas belt...my preference is to have the elastic to be relaxed and comfortable around my waist and the belt to cinch it up if need be.
Another Yes to the change stop feature in the pocket.
I'd vote no on need for a key chain.

Just one man's opinion :)

As on of the people who has been clammering for the shorts, this is really cool!

Couple of thoughts, the pattern belts would seem to be a really nice touch and add some distinction to the shorts.

I like the idea of change stopper for the shorts.

The shorts look a little tight in the crotch maybe restricting movement? If these are travel/hiking/adventure shorts, more movement would be nice.

Deep pockets in front and back are great, although on many light weight shorts, the pockets tend to be flimsy. Hopefully the pockets will be reinforced?

Idea for third color-- darker khaki.

I dont think the waist needs to be adjustable, and no elastic on the waist is what I prefer.

No key holder needed
