Although the Anniversary sale is over, we wanted to share this great blog post with you!

Scottevest – My Favorite Travel Clothes

Now that I have told you about the sale, let me tell you a little more about Scottevest and what I was previously planning to post. Most importantly, I wanted to make sure you are all aware of the company’s existence. Scottevest has been around for over 10 years now and I somehow managed to only find out about them last summer, so I have to imagine that many of you have never heard of them. I do think they have recently increased their advertising, but as a travel and electronics obsessed individual, I can’t imagine how I didn’t find them earlier.

Scottevest promotes themselves as providing travel clothing for the trip of your life. Each of their products boasts a whole slew of hidden pockets that will not only help to carry everything you need, but will keep your items safe. Their jackets also make airport security much easier as you can just put all of your electronics and metal objects right in the pockets and send it through the scanner. No more gathering each item and trying to put it back in your pockets as you stumble around without your shoes on while trying to pick up your carry-ons. In addition, many Scottevest items have some pretty cool tech features and pockets that are designed not to bulge when full. I will let you browse through their website to learn more about the company and what they offer, but I am pretty sure you will like what you see.

The next thing I want to share with you is how awesome Scottevest products are. I now own their 13-pocket Cotton Hoodie, their 22-pocket Classic Travel Vest, and 4 pair of their2-pocket travel boxers. I am not going to go into a detailed product review each of these items, but I will say that they have been go to travel garments for me over the course of the past year. The boxers were great in the hot, humid climate of Costa Rica. It was also nice to be able to wash them out and let them dry overnight since we were traveling as light as possible. The hoodie was indispensable in San Diego since I could carry everything I needed and it was literally the only long sleeved item that I brought with me. Perhaps we should have looked in to predicted temperatures a bit better before packing for that trip.

My Scottevest Cotton Hoodie keeping me warm in San Diego.

Most recently, the vest (which I got for Christmas) was perfect for my day trips to NYC and Philadelphia last weekend. At one point in NYC, I had it loaded with my iPod Classic, my wife’s iPod Touch, my phone, 4 passports, my truck keys, subway cards, my sunglasses, a laminated subway/bus map of the city, and a Kindle Fire. I can’t emphasize enough how incredibly useful the pockets on these garments are. As I unloaded my vest when I got home, my mother watched in awe and then said “Well, I guess we know who’s going to carry all of our stuff in Paris.”

I don’t personally own any of the 10 items that are going on sale tomorrow, but I can not promise that I will be able to say that 24 hours from now. I will definitely be taking a good hard look at each of those products and will probably convince myself that I need at least one or two. If you find other products that you like on the Scottevest site and they are not going to be on sale tomorrow, be sure to keep an eye on their daily sale page. Every day they put one of their products on sale, usually at 20% off, but sometimes higher. If you are willing to wait, you can probably save a bit of money.

I think that Scottevest clothing is well worth the cost even at full price, but I would always prefer to get a discount if I can. This 40% off sale will give you some great deals on some awesome travel clothing and I hope that some of you can take advantage of it. If you are already a Scottevest customer, let me know what products you have and what you think of them. Maybe you can help me decide what my next purchase should be.

EDIT: Please note that there are no returns or exchanges on items purchased through this sale. Make sure to check reviews and sizing and be sure of your size before ordering.

Disclaimer: If every single person who reads this post clicks on my links for Scottevestand buys something, I will still get absolutely nothing in return. I just really like my Scottevest products and I thought that some of you could benefit from this sale.

2 THOUGHTS ON “SCOTTEVEST – MY FAVORITE TRAVEL CLOTHES

Where-have-you-been-all-my-life? The built in best friend, Molly Jacket.

ScotteVest's new Molly Jacket is like wearing a second (stylish) carry-on

As a Girlfriend Getaway travel writer, who has visited about 90 countries, you'd think by now that I'd have my packing down to a science...WRONG! As pitiful as this sounds, if it's anything over a 3 day trip I succumb to checking my luggage which means an extra 30-45 minutes sweating it out at baggage claim, fingers crossed that my bag actually shows up.

On a recent group press trip I overheard two journalists (both gadget-loving men) extol the virtues of the SCOTTEVEST, which comes with zillions of hidden pockets for carrying all sorts of miscellaneous items. But I’d never seen one, and to tell the truth, it always sounded like SCOTTEVEST's were designed more for the Birkenstock, flannel shirt, knapsack-loving, Swiss Army knife carrying type, which so doesn’t fit my N.Y.C all-black (hopefully chic) fashion statement.

And then I discovered SCOTTEVEST’s (where-have-you-been-all-my-life?) brand new, girls-only, Molly Jacket which dispelled the last of my fashion faux pas fears. Wearing Molly is like traveling with a best friend who patiently holds your purse, keys, and water bottle while you go to the ladies room. The water and stain resistant Molly Jacket is so light, wrinkle-free, figure-flattering and trendy that I think I’d wear it even if it didn’t come with 17 special pockets to hold your money, cell phone, kindle, digital camera (this pocket has its own baby pocket to hold extra memory cards) sunglasses (how cool is it that this pocket has a chamois on a cord for cleaning your shades) and even a quick-draw lipstick pocket. Who is this Molly and how did she get to be so smart?
The coat is available in “Antique” (army green with a surprise red lining that really pops when you roll up the sleeves) or “Onyx” (Black with hot pink lining) and costs $175.

Travel Accessory Review: SCOTTEVEST® Transformer Jacket

Submitted by Ron Stern, Denver/ Colorado, United States

If you’re like me and dislike paying for airline bag fees, then finding suitable alternatives for checked bags is a must. For several years I have been using the cleverly designed SCOTTEVEST® and find it to be one of the best ways to level the playing field. Their complete line of stylish yet comfortable smart travel apparel includes a jacket that can carry a whopping amount of items in its many interior pockets.

Always innovative, the company’s newest addition is called theTransformer Jacket owing to its ability to rapidly transform from a lightweight jacket into a vest in just a few seconds. The secret comes from 12 rare-earth magnets that are concealed in the shoulders and sleeves allowing you to simply pull on the material to create a vest. You can then hide the sleeves in a special pocket until you are ready totransform back into a jacket just as quickly. After a couple of tries, I was able to convert from a jacket to vest in about 10 seconds.

The Transformer Jacket has 20 pockets that are designed to hold things like sunglasses, books, water bottles, cameras, maps, and passports using a system of zippered pockets-in-pockets. As if this isn’t enough, these high tech jackets are designed to also carry iPhones®(Clear-touch cell phone pockets allow these to be operated through the material) and even iPads, ® all without making you look bulky. I love this aspect of the jackets as nobody knows I am carrying all this expensive gear.

The folks at SCOTTEVEST® have also created several other technological innovations that include a Patented Personal Area Network (PAN) allowing you to weave headphone wires through the clothing and a Weight Management System that balances and distributes the combined weight of carried items.

Travel doesn’t have to be expensive or difficult, and for me, traveling light is the way to go. Even in a colder climate, I just layer the jacket with a warm inner shell. This jacket is truly the one to beat and it will become part of my personal travel necessities.

The new Transformer Jacket is wind and water-resistant and is available in three colors: Blaze (red with black accents), Coal (black with gray accents) and Ash (gray with black accents).  Available atwww.scottevest.com. Price $160.

Scottevest Review

Scottevest Mens Revolution Plus Jacket

The History Of Scottevest

Scottevest has been around for 10 years  and have a reputation for being a quality jacket that has more than enough pockets to hide all your belongings. Scott and Laura own and run the company and have launched a range of products to help travellers store all their belongings in one convenient jacket.

Their product range has grown substantially over the years and now they are launching some really trendy everyday urban wear jackets. I am very excited to see where the next 10 years takes them.

The Products Available

Scottevest has a wide range of products now available from expedition jackets, urban jackets and a huge range of pants and T-shirts too. Who would have thought you could have hidden pockets in a T-shirt!? Well, Laura and the designers have come up with unique pocket inclusions in all their products and it just amazed me how they continue to keep the style of these garments, which is at the forefront of their designs. There are too many products to list, so for a comprehensive look at all their products you can visit their website.

The Pockets

This is the first jacket that I have ever worn that houses 26 pocket! Yep, you heard right… 26! They are located throughout the garment and are placed in the most convenient areas for easy access. There are also some sneaky ‘pockets within pockets’ for extra safety for your passport and money if needed. These jackets hold belongings such as iPod, iPhone, iPad, sunglasses, camera, passport, wallet, water bottle, keys…The list just goes on and on. The only thing you can’t carry is the kitchen sink!

Pockets in the Revolution Plus Jacket

My Thoughts

We were lucky enough to be sent one mens Revolution Plus Jacket and Elise received the women’s Lola Jacket. Each of the jackets we noticed were made extremely well. You can see from all stitching, to the design of the jacket, everything has been thought of. What can I say…this jacket is very hard to fault and if you know us from our previous reviews we tell you the truth if we don’t like a product. The jacket has a snug tailored fit that hugs the body and you would never know that the jackets housed so many pockets internally and externally. I loaded up my jacket with all the items that I would if I were travelling overseas or taking a flight and you could barely tell that I had anything under my jacket.

This is great for the security aspect of your belongings and it also allows you to leave the day pack at home if you can carry everything on your body. The only thing to criticise would be that the women’s arm length on the Lola jacket were a little long, now this may only be due to Elise’s incredibly short T-Rex arms!

I will be giving my jacket a huge test drive when I go to America. I will attempt to have limited carry on and only will be carrying my dslr camera in a bag and the rest of my belongings will be in my jacket. I am looking forward to the road test out and about in the States! I will let you all know how it goes in the next couple of months.
