Gadget Gurus, Unite!

If you are like me, you suffer from a lack of storage space for all of your cool gadgets. Cell phone, GPS, eBook reader, sunglasses, iPod, travel documents, the list goes on and on. Well, thanks to founder and design genius, Scott Jordan, the ScotteVest has you well taken care of. This photo is depicting the Fleece 5.0 product inside out. Afterall, it's what is on the INSIDE of this jacket that makes it unqiue. Sporting the PAN (personal area network) fancy word for earphone management, two pockets with a touch material so that you can control your devices as well as see the screen and numerous other pockets for stowing tons of gear, you are ready to hit the streets. The great thing about this jacket? It is designed so that the gear in your pockets maintain their own "zone" to keep you from looking like you had extra whip cream with your sundae. What I call the AGBM'S (anti-gear bloat managemet systems). Your stowed gear lays flat and inconspicuous. So, put on your best spy face, load your gear and hit the streets, hands free and ready to roll. SCOTTeVEST

Check out this email I got today!

Subject: look how durable your vest is!

Hey Scott. Just received your email and saw that you personally read all your mail. I just wanted to thank you for making such a great product. I first learned of the Scottevest watching the Big Idea. I purchased one for my 62 year old father for the holidays last year. He loved it and wore it every day.
On February 24th, 2008, my father was hit by a city snowplow that ran a red light. He spent two months in the hospital followed by therapy which continues today. When he came out his coma he asked for several things including the details of his rescue. The only other item he asked for aside from his wallet was whether or not anyone had his Scottvest. The hospital handed him his bag of belongings but to his dismay his Scottvest was not in it, although he had it on the day of the accident.
When we were given the vehicle back I was shocked to actually see that he survived. I was even more shocked to find his Scottevest pinned behind the drivers seat still in tact. Aside from some blood stains and where the rescue team had cut the vest during extrication, his Scottevest was still there. Although I am certain you know how durable your vest is, take a look at it in the evidence photo I have attached. Amazing!
With the holidays around the corner, I would love to purchase him another vest. In addition I would also like to purchase 3 hoodies for my brothers. Is there a quantity discount available? I am planning to purchase these within the next couple weeks either way. Thanks and I look forward to seeing my dad back in his vest again soon.
Warmly,
Jen Turcich

Scott--
First, apologies for the delayed response. I have been crazed with our move. Second, many thanks for the very cool gear--it was also a big hit on the homefront. Third, I also very much enjoyed our meeting. You, Laura and the team have a lot to be very proud of. While the financing markets are currently unsettled, I have no doubt that you will be able to raise money on attractive terms.

I will come back to you with dates for a meeting . Given my move and business schedule, I will likely shoot for the latter part of October.

Finally, I too would love to get together with you and Laura socially. I am hoping to spend a lot of time in SV this Fall/Winter and will make sure we get you up to our new lean-to.

Best regards--

Dear ,

We thoroughly enjoyed our meeting today. Thanks so much for taking the time. We agreed with all of your thoughts and ideas, and hope to be able to find the right people to help implement them sooner rather than later.

I would welcome an opportunity to come to San Francisco to meet with anyone you think would be worthwhile. Let me know what dates you think will work, and I will book the trip.

Laura and I would love to get together with you and meet your wife - dinner, a hike, you name it. We both felt a connection on a personal level and would like to get to know you better. We are around all fall, so anytime is good for us.

I am really glad we met on the chairlift!

Sincerely,

Laura and Scott

Rock Bottom Remainders

Cover Letter From Amy Tan to the band

Dear Remainders Rock ‘n Roll Wannabe’s & Rock ‘n Roll Be’s,

We did the Fillmore, Webster Hall, and the Bottomline. We headlined the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the night before it opened.

We toured 10 cities with Al Kooper in Aretha Franklin’s bus and wrote a book about it. We even got a publisher to publish so we could see it get remaindered.

We had Bonnie Raitt’s sound tech and the roadies of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and they were ours. We had f-----g Robin Williams open for us. We accompanied Steve Martin on banjo, sang backup to Bruce Springsteen, Roger McGuinn, Judy Collins, Warren Zevon, Monte Montgomery, Lesley Gore, and a bunch of other real rockers who let us screw up their songs.

Some members of the band slept with each other, even though they were still married to each other.

What’s next????

In this box, you’ll find it. A gift from an admirer and truly nice guy, Scott Jordan of ScotteVest. A few months ago, I ordered jackets and pants for Lou and me. Scott asked if the band might want some logo wear as a gift. You basically said, Sweet Lorraine, yes.

Scott and his wife, worked hard on making the logo just right, even though I over-inflated our motto to “four chords.” So, here they are: Hoodie, shirt, and cap with our logo embroidered on them. Expandable, beer-proof, comfy, gear that doesn’t scream, “I’m a rock star.” It lets people know discreetly that you are not. And check out the pockets—in the cap, too. Look inside the brim. This, fellow bandmates, is truly ‘three chords and an attitude.”

Thanks, Scott! Hope to see you at a gig one day soon.

No Videos Today-Old School Text Post

I left my video camera at the office. Great day today. TONS of AWESOME ideas for the Woz videos. I think this will be super funny. It is really hard to set out to create something viral, as videos just go viral is the viewers says it is worthy of forwarding. We hope that you think what we do is worthy.

I will be posting a bunch of misc. things that I have posted as drafts to blogger for awhile that I never got around to posting, editing. They are all primarily from emails I received or sent, and may appear somewhat dated, but they will be even more dated if I wait longer.

I hope everyone is having a good day.

Hi Scott,

The Bonesetter's Daughter hoodies and caps arrived and they are GORGEOUS. The logo with the dragon is so cool. The cast and crew are going to be bowled over. The composer, who is giving the gifts with me, has already been wearing his covertly when not around the opera house. He says it is something he will likely wear all the time. You should know that he is quite a particular dresser from New York. Incredibly fussy. As he discovered the pockets, one by one, he laughed and said to himself, "This is soooo Amy." He told me with great excitement how he used the cord for his keys, the holes for his earbuds to his iPhone, and so on. He said your products are a perfect match for who I am--and also for him. He is definitely going to buy more stuff. Another convert.

Stewart and I will be sending thank you notes by snailmail, but I wanted you to know sooner how much we appreciate and love the hoodies and caps.

xoxo

I didn't reply on video because it's early here in London and I'm tired and not even dressed!

But thank you so much. You really have done a great thing for the world. Who else would have done it well? Almost nobody in this age of figuring out ways to make crappy things that aren't all they claim to be and saving the buck.

I'd love very much to do the video with you. Timing will be very tough in the near future but could be worked out with Julie. I love the Gadgetfest idea. I'm on the road now (very homesick after being away for 3 weeks) but I'll be back home for a week. By the end of that week I'll be in L.A. but there is some time at home that may work out. After that I'm gone for most of the next 6 weeks and it gets harder to squeeze something like this video in until December or January.

Best of everything,

"The Transition Jacket"

The jacket is a transition from wearing the Evolution or the Quantum jacket. Plus geeks can relate to the name.

What about Genesis, Momentum, or Nomad

For the pack, how about:
Quantum* LITE
*Quantum *EXPRESS
*Quantum *COMPACT

I’m not a fan of “pack Jacket” but am not adverse to a combination of names or a single name.

I.E.

Pack Innovation

Pack

Resistant
*
Other:
Quantum *To Go

I don’t mind Transition/Transitions, but “Transitions” is an eyewear company – just something to consider. The idea of a combination name is interesting – Pocket Jacket, Packet Jacket (I think there’s another company that calls theirs the “Packet”).

How do these grab you:

SeV Wind

Signature Wind

Wind Convertable

Jordan Convertible

I don't see how people would get confused with the "Transition Jacket" with "Transition Lens", totally different products.

Maybe the "SeV Lite" or "SeV Resistant". I think some of the ones you picked out are pretty good.

The SeV Tornado is a new lightweight, comfortable windbreaker jacket featuring x pockets which have the enhanced feature of creating layers, resulting in enhanced windproof capabilities. The SeV Tornado is perfect for wearing on any day of the week, particularly those windy ones!
